Warning Description: Winter Weather Advisory

Warning Date: 12:09 PM EST on January 17, 2008

WarningSum:...Another Tricky Morning Drive In Store For Portions Of Eastern
New York And Adjacent Western New England...

Warning Message:...Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to
10 am EST Friday...
The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory...which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to
10 am EST Friday for the Mohawk Valley...Catskills...greater
capital district...Mid Hudson valley...southern
Vermont...Berkshires and northwest Connecticut.
A weak storm system passing by to our south tonight into early
Friday...will bring snow across the region...transitioning to a
little freezing rain or drizzle and ending as drizzle by Friday
morning.
Precipitation will develop as snow before midnight across the
advisory area and spread north. Expect 1 to locally 4 inches of
snow to accumulate before the transition to light freezing rain or
freezing drizzle during the overnight hours. Light freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will make for a very a slippery morning commute on
many untreated surfaces. Allow extra time to reach your destination.
Up to a tenth of an inch will accumulate before temperatures reach
above the freezing mark later on Friday morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
